About World Time

World Talent Invitational Mathematics Examinations (World TIME) is a competition that is open to students in grades 2-11. It is an opportunity for students from many countries to meet and to share knowledge, experiences, and culture. World TIME believes that mathematics is something that is used in almost every subject, so it’s important for people to study it and learn to apply it. The purpose of World TIME is to raise student’s interests in mathematics and to provide the gifted students a chance to shine. Its purpose is also to help students develop rational thinking and problem solving skills to help them succeed in the future.

Rules of World Time

Students must complete 24 multiple choice questions and one bonus question within 90 minutes. The score of each question depends on the number of students that have received a right answer on that question. The grading scheme follows the chart below (Let xk be the score which all of the participants get when they have a correct answer for the kth problem, 1 ≤ k ≤ 25):

Giving an incorrect answer or no answer will result in a zero for the regular questions, but points will be deducted if a wrong answer was written for the bonus question.

In each grade, the top 10% of students will receive gold medals and certificates, the next 20% will receive silver medals and certificates, the next 30% will receive bronze medals and certificates, the next 20% will receive merit certificates, and the next 20% will receive participation certificates. Electronic devices will not be allowed during the competition.
